Despite the importance of palatability in rangeland management, no appropriate palatability indicator has been defined yet. Therefore, developing an accurate, applicable, general, and simple indicator for plant palatability estimation seems crucial. This research is an effort in this regard. To investigate the relationship between plant secondary compounds and palatability, plant species composition in the study area and in the sheep and goat diet as well as selection index were measured using chronometric and filming method. In the next stage, main plants’ secondary compounds in livestock diet were determined using GC/MSS. Then plants’ secondary compounds were ordinated using principle component analysis (PCA) method. Quantitative value of each plant species Eigen values on each of the main axis of PCA was regarded as a criterion for differentiation of plant species based on its secondary compounds. Finally, correlation between selection index of each plant species by sheep and goat (as dependent variable) with each plant species Eigen values on PCA axis (as independent variable) was determined. The results showed that there is a significant negative relationship between the selection index of the species by sheep and goat with its secondary compounds (P≤0.05). So, it is concluded that secondary compounds are effective factors in animal’s diet selection for grazing. Therefore, secondary compounds are recommended as an important factor for plant palatability determination.}, keywords = {Rangelands,Grazing,Plant palatability,Secondary compounds,Karsanak,Chaharmahal-Va-Bakhtiari Province}, title_fa = {بررسی رابطه ترکیبات ثانویه و خوشخوراکی گیاهان مرتعی(مطالعه موردی: مراتع کرسنک استان چهارمحال و بختیاری)}, abstract_fa = {خوش‌خوراکی گونه‌های مرتعی در موارد متعددی مانند تعیین ظرفیت چرا و ترکیب گونه‌ای کاربرد دارد. تاکنون شاخص دقیقی برای تعیین خوشخوراکی، تعریف نشده است. ازاین‌رو، معرفی شاخصی دقیق، کاربردی، عام و ساده برای تعیین خوشخوراکی گیاهان مرتعی ضروری به نظر می‌رسد. برای بررسی رابطة بین خوشخوراکی و ترکیبات ثانویه، ابتدا ترکیب گیاهان و نسبت استفاده از گونه‌های گیاهی موجود در منطقه در رژیم غذایی دام‌های گوسفند و بز به‌طور جداگانه با استفاده از روش فیلم‌برداری و زمان‌سنجی اندازه‌گیری شد. شاخص انتخاب گونه‌های گیاهی برای بز و گوسفند محاسبه گردید. سپس، ترکیبات ثانویه گیاهان غالب در رژیم غذائی دام‌ها، با استفاده از دستگاه کروماتوگرافی گازی متصل به طیف نگار جرمی GC-MSS اندازه‌گیری و مقادیر ترکیبات ثانویه به روش آنالیز مؤلفه‌های اصلی (PCA) رج‌بندی و مقادیر کمی هر یک از گونه‌های گیاهی بر روی هر یک از محورهای اصلی به‌عنوان معیار کمی تمایز گونه‌ها ازنظر وجود ترکیبات ثانویه گیاهان در نظر گرفته شد. در پایان همبستگی بین شاخص انتخاب گونه‌های گیاهی توسط گوسفند و بز (متغیر وابسته) با مقادیر کمی حاصل از ترکیبات ثانویه گیاهان بر روی محورهای PCA (متغیر مستقل) تعیین و تجزیه‌وتحلیل شد. نتایج حاصله نشان داد که بین شاخص انتخاب گونه‌های گیاهی توسط گوسفند و بز با ترکیبات ثانویه گیاهان رابطة معنی‌داری (0.05 P≤) وجود داشته و یا به بیانی دیگر ترکیبات ثانویه گیاهان مرتعی در انتخاب آن‌ها توسط گوسفند و بز برای چرا کاملاً تأثیر گذارند. بنابراین، ترکیبات ثانویه گیاهان را می‌توان به‌عنوان شاخصی مهم در تعیین خوشخوراکی گیاهان مرتعی محسوب کرد.}, keywords_fa = {مرتع,چرا,خوشخوراکی گیاهان,ترکیبات ثانویه,کرسنک و استان چهار محال و بختیاری}, url = {https://jrwm.ut.ac.ir/article_61684.html}, eprint = {https://jrwm.ut.ac.ir/article_61684_9c89329e9f6d8e15727bc87691f43e9b.pdf} }
